What is MAPIC?

Since 1995, the MAPIC event has had the primary objective of showcasing fast-growing names on the European market in sectors including retail chains, restaurant chains and leisure operators. Also, this means that those that are expanding will be able to showcase their future plans and attract investors from around the world.

In terms of numbers, MAPIC brings together some 4400 participants from 75 different countries, 250 speakers and over 50 conferences. In other words, this is a major event with a wide range of activities on offer.

Main activities and conferences

With more than 50 conferences, MAPIC offers a wide range of complex and interesting topics that aim to address various issues. This is why MAPIC is offering 3 intensive days, focusing on the 4 key points that make up the essence of this event:

  • Networking: MAPIC focuses on the creation of an effective network for all its participants: this forum enables the various stakeholders to meet and exchange ideas in order to build and create new business models.
  • Exhibition space: with its 12,000 m² of exhibition space, MAPIC provides the perfect opportunity to meet all the exhibitors who will be in attendance, and gives all key industry players the chance to present their projects.
  • Conferences and debates: participate in conference cycles to gain a better understanding of the retail and real estate sector. There will also be practical case studies to help you develop your knowledge of the subject.
  • The MAPIC Awards: since 1996, the MAPIC Awards have been spotlighting excellence, innovation and creativity in the retail and property sectors. It’s also an opportunity for the winners to make a name for themselves and win prizes.

In addition to these key points, this year’s MAPIC will be showcasing new thematic areas and content that both exhibitors and visitors will be keen to explore. Here are a few that have been reinvented for this year’s event:

  • LeisurUp: LeisurUp is an event that aims to accelerate the integration of leisure into a variety of living spaces, such as shopping centres, urban neighbourhoods and holiday destinations.
  • The Sustainability Lab: Some 100m² will be dedicated to this exhibition for service providers whose aim is to introduce energy-efficient solutions to the commercial property sector, particularly with a view to reducing their carbon footprint.
  • The MAPIC Innovation Forum: This space is billed as an innovation platform for commercial real estate, with the aim of improving the customer experience, promoting artificial intelligence and upgrading the collection of buyer data.
  • The Happetite Forum: This international forum is aimed at restaurant chains looking to expand and discover new partners.
