Every year for almost 8 years now, Canneseries has celebrated series from around the globe in a chic and glamorous atmosphere at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes. Taking place from April 23 to 28, 2026, this 9th edition offers professionals and newcomers alike the opportunity to discover the shows of today and tomorrow. Organized by a passionate team, this festival is a jewel in the industry, completely free and open to the public.

Canneseries 2026: What to Expect This Year
Known as the annual television series festival, Canneseries boasts a diverse and generous program, with an official competition judged by an exceptional international jury. Over six days, the festival offers a wide array of activities and events, all free and open to the public.
Building on the success of its professional events, Canneseries has developed “CANNESERIES Industry,” comprising six clubs dedicated to various industry roles, including screenwriters, producers, fiction and documentary series creators, broadcasters, music composers, technicians, casting directors, and students. The aim is to foster connections and spark new opportunities for participants.
To date, the official programme for the 2026 edition, including the selection of series, juries, conferences, residencies (such as CANNESERIES Unlimited), and ceremonies, has not yet been announced. Accreditations will open soon. According to Broadcast Now, Benoît Louvet, the festival’s general director, promises that the 2026 edition ‘will be bigger’ than previous ones, reflecting a clear ambition to expand.
As a reminder, in 2025, the official selection included 8 series in competition, 8 series in the Short Series competition and 5 series in the Documentary Series competition. In addition to these competitions, 6 series Out of Competition completed this selection, which aims to be increasingly bold, inclusive and open to the world with each edition. As for the jury, internationally recognised talents from the world of series were brought together to judge the series in competition. They awarded nine prizes at the end of the festival, including the prize for best series. Furthermore, in order to give young people a voice, two juries were created to allow this knowledgeable and avid consumer audience to express their opinions: the high school jury and the student jury.
Canneseries: Celebrating the Art of Television Series
Canneseries 2025 is dedicated to honoring the art of TV series in a vibrant and sophisticated setting. Free screenings and events invite attendees to explore popular series and join discussions with showrunners, directors, actors, and other talents. These meetings, which include autograph sessions, are free but require online booking through the official Canneseries website.
Since its inception, Canneseries has reserved Fridays for school audiences in collaboration with the Nice Academy. This programming includes screenings of web series created by high school students, supporting the next generation of creators.
A Retrospective: Canneseries' Key Moments
Canneseries began in 2018 as an initiative by the Cannes City Council, coinciding with the International Market of Television Programs (MIPTV). With an initial budget of €3–3.5 million, largely funded by local governments, the first edition featured a dozen screenings. Over the years, the festival has grown, attracting more high-profile guests and audiences.
Despite disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, which moved the festival to October alongside MIPCOM, Canneseries remains in Cannes, delighting series enthusiasts worldwide.
