Every year, MIPCOM, or the International Market for Communication Programmes, takes place in Cannes at the Palais des Festivals, not far from the Croisette.

The aim of this, the 41st edition, is to bring together professionals from the world of television and the media for 4 days in an atmosphere of business, exchange and sharing.

MIPCOM in figures and dates

MIPCOM involves more than 12,000 participants from over a hundred countries, over 3,000 buyers and around 350 stands. The country to be honoured in 2025 has not yet been officially announced. In 2024, the focus was on Spain, with its growing influence in the media world in recent years and its high-quality content.

For this occasion, MIPCOM enables participants to discover the latest trends in audiovisual content. The event offers the public a wide range of conferences and unique opportunities for discussion, during which projects such as TV series are born and confirmed. 

What’s more, during MIPCOM you’ll also be able to see celebrities promoting the projects they’ve worked on, notably at preview screenings or dedicated conferences.

MIPCOM and its unmissable events

During MIPCOM in Cannes, you can take part in a range of events spread out over 4 days:

  • An exhibition area will be open for everyone to discover production companies from all over the world, who are hoping to meet thousands of buyers and present their content to them. So the aim is clear: to make oneself visible on the international stage, but also to meet new prospects and draw inspiration from other companies to improve the quality of one’s content.
  • Meeting key players in the industry is an important part of MIPCOM’s networking; through business lunches and open-access meetings, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your network and share your projects with various stakeholders in the industry. 
  • Conferences will be held to sharpen your understanding of the audiovisual industry and explore new ways of managing your business to stay up to date with the best practices in the media world. On the schedule: conferences on the monetisation of innovative content to better understand the challenges and transformations, masterclasses on the entertainment industry to explore new ideas and perspectives, summits on artificial intelligence, etc. In short, there’s a plethora of conferences for every taste!
  • Screening sessions will be held to give the public a sneak preview of content from all genres, including World Premiere TV and Market Screenings, which are a great opportunity for the international press and buyers to see what’s in store from certain production companies.

In addition, the Cannes MIPCOM is planning an event called the Diversify TV awards, which will aim to promote and reward diversity and inclusion by audiovisual platforms.

The event aims to draw attention to programmes from diverse and inclusive backgrounds, rewarding them for their ongoing efforts. A number of award categories have been established, such as LGBTQIA+, people with reduced mobility, and there will even be a Behind-the-Scenes Impact Award. 

Finally, just before this event, you can also attend MIPJUNIOR, which is the market reserved for Kids content and co-productions. It brings together the industry’s most influential producers, distributors and buyers of children’s content. You’ll have the opportunity to discover the latest programmes for young people and meet the people who keep them entertained via the small screen.

Tips for attending MIPCOM Cannes 2025

To attend the Cannes MIPCOM, you’ll first have to register via the official MIPCOM CANNES website. Ticket sales are not yet open for this 2025 edition. Last year, two types of ticket were available to visitors:

  • The first was a ticket reserved for visitors which costs between €1,100 and €1,830 depending on your category (unlimited access to the trade fair for 4 days, opportunity to attend all the events organised by MIPCOM and access to a personalised digital platform).
  • The second was a ticket reserved for buyers which costs between €1,050 and €1,410, depending on your preferences. It, too, offered unlimited access to the trade fair for the duration of the event, but also access to exclusive content through the MIPCOM Digital Content Library, networking with the various stakeholders in the audiovisual sector and consultation with experts.

A look back at 2024

The 2024 edition of MIPCOM, held from 21 to 24 October in Cannes, celebrated its 40ᵉ anniversary by bringing together more than 10,500 delegates from 110 countries. The event highlighted Spain as the country in the spotlight, reflecting its growth as a major centre of international production and provider of quality content.

MIPCOM 2024 also inaugurated the MIP Innovation Lab, a space dedicated to the intersections between content, technology and audience behaviour, featuring summits on topics such as streaming, artificial intelligence and connected TV.
