What is MIDEM in Cannes?
The International Market for Recorded Music and Music Publishing, or MIDƐM+, is a music event that has existed since 1967, which quickly established itself as the world’s leading trade fair for music professionals. Held annually at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, it attracts thousands of participants from around the world. Interestingly, the event almost disappeared in 2022, but the City of Cannes took over the organization in partnership with Live Nation, and relaunched MIDEM in an enhanced format since 2023 as MIDEM+, with a hybrid business + festival format, which is sure to please fans!
The objective of MIDEM in Cannes is simple: to introduce sources of inspiration and ideas to the whole world while expanding one’s professional network! Furthermore, MIDEM is the perfect opportunity for people working in the music industry to develop expertise or activities on an international scale. Moreover, this festival, in addition to placing music at the heart of tomorrow’s challenges, aims to be augmented, experiential, and collaborative. Clearly, creation has its full place there with collaborative intelligence workshops, networking sessions around a professional market, conferences, and discussions, both on new technologies and on pure creation.
More than a professional gathering, MIDEM celebrates music and entertainment in all its forms, while offering participants an immersive and creative experience.

Regarding the speakers for the 2025 edition, we noted the presence of Thomas Ngijol, who hosted the MIDEM Awards during an exceptional gala, as well as chef Jean Imbert and John Ried, the president of Live Action Entertainment.
